Hm, I don't think my question was "What are your favorite novels?"...but maybe that's the same as a recommendation. ;)

Have you read The Picture of Dorian Gray? I couldn't put it down when I started it...

i'll say skip 'out of the silent planet' and go straight to 'Perelandra' its about another world that is just beginning and looks at what it might have been like in the garden on eden...
cs is always thought provoking and entertaining!

if you haven't given Redeeming Love a try I would suggest that one. It's a fiction story based off the book of Hosea

I feel like your question was too vague. What type of fiction are you craving? It's too overwhelming to just make a blind recommendation. Who are your favorite authors typically? Do you want something along those lines, or something totally different? Something serious and profound or something light and entertaining? So many options. . .

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will take them into consideration.

Susan: yeah, vague question I know. I think the last fiction book I read that wasn't an assignment was The Alchemist about two years ago. Sad. I have a hard time with fiction- a sense of guilt that I only have so much time and energy I can devote to reading and therefore I become solely practical in my reading choices.

So...I want something non-practical and something that is a page-turner. I don't know if I want it to be light or profound, though!

i have a fiction book a friend gave me a few months back that i'm not up to reading because i am in a huge non-fiction "rut". it's called "the world to come" by dara horn.

also there is a series called "rashi's daughters" by maggie anton. i have the third book, "rachel", but i can't vouch for it, either.

just offers.
